Traditional markets in Ras Al Khaimah continue to function as vital socio-economic and cultural infrastructures. Building on earlier analysis of their historical significance and spatial characteristics, this policy paper proposes targeted interventions based on fieldwork, spatial mapping, and visitor surveys. Focusing on Old RAK Souq, Kuwaiti Souq, Al-Mairid Souq, and Old Nakheel Market, it addresses spatial ambiguity, pedestrian safety, environmental comfort, and fragmented governance. It calls for holistic, community-informed regeneration emphasizing spatial clarity, walkability, heritage-sensitive upgrading, and inclusive governance, guiding policymakers toward coordinated, phased, non-disruptive revitalization that strengthens everyday urban life and resilience.
